Ingredients
- 1 kg All-Purpose Flour
- 200 g Vegetable Shortening
- 1 T Salt
- 2 C Water Hot
Instructions
- Mix shortening and flour with the palms of the hands.
- Dilute the salt in the water and mix into the flour/shortening to form a dough – knead well
- Let it rest for 30 minutes
- Form 50g balls for small tortillas, 90g balls for large tortillas.
- Heat dry (but well-seasoned) cast iron pan to medium heat
- Spread with a rolling pin (or glass bottle, or taco press) and place in pan
- Cook 2 minutes
- Flip and cook 1 more minute
