Ingredients
- 700 g Nixtamal Whole Kernels
- ¼ C Vegetable Shortening
Instructions
- Cool the nixtamal if you recently made it, and pat dry.
- Melt shortening in stock pot.
- Use a spider or slotted spoon to lower nixtamal in the shortening and heat 8 minutes or until golden brown. They will cook a bit longer once removed.
- Use a spider or slotted spoon and move to a towel-lined bowl to drain.
- Toss with salt.
Notes
You can add a variety of toppings besides salt (cajun spices, etc.)
